LTI 1.3 Advantage, plainly — and why every authoring tool should ship it.

SCORM was great in 2004. It still works. But for any LMS built after 2018, LTI 1.3 is the better delivery channel — it's just that the ecosystem hasn't caught up with explaining why.
What "Advantage" means
LTI 1.3 itself is just the launch protocol. "Advantage" is a set of add-on services that turn a static launch into an integrated experience. There are three you actually want:
- Deep Linking. Lets an instructor pick your course from inside the LMS UI, without copy-pasting a URL.
- Assignment & Grade Services (AGS). When a learner finishes, your tool pushes the score back to the gradebook automatically.
- Dynamic Registration. Two-click setup: paste a URL, click confirm, done. Replaces an hour of issuer/client- id/keyset-URL copy-paste.
What you trade off
SCORM is air-gapped — once a learner downloads the zip, your server isn't in the loop. LTI 1.3 requires a live tool endpoint. For most LMSs in 2026 that's a non-issue; for some compliance environments it's a blocker. We support both, so you pick per course.
